There is a “long culture tradition of the wicked stepmother”, however why do we as a society label the stepmother wicked anyway? There are some reasons why this may be but there are highlights how stepmothers can be just as good and sometimes even better than biological mothers. address these stereotypes and discuss how the media plays a factor in our understanding of the role of “stepmom”.

3. What about the wicked stepfather? Surely there are media depictions about the evil stepfather, so why is this not a stereotype?
